MRR Review

We cannot (and do not) hide our familiarity with some of the folks at MAXIMUMROCKNROLL. OFR bass player Paul spearheaded the online MRR Radio initiative. We've worked out of their office on occasion, and even practiced in the mailroom once or twice. I'm still not allowed to park inside the garage, but it's not for nothing that we thank them for "punk rock nepotism" on our record.

Well, the "nepotism" part is a joke, because above all, we respect the editorial integrity of MRR, and don't expect favorable treatment based on some familiarity. Okay, just wanted to make the disclaimer before continuing.

This month's issue of MRR (#238, March 2003) contains a fairly positive review of our record, written by someone I don't even know. We even made a few "Top Ten" lists on the inside front cover. And it was very exciting to see our record on the hallowed shelves of MRR's unparalleled punk rock library, right next to "Operation something-or-other."

A rancid amoeba, who coined the somewhat bitter phrase "punk rock nepotism," avows that the true mark of excellence is when the record is subsequently stolen from the library. Well, it's only been a month, and, I don't know, I think we'll take what we can get!
