Back From Reno
The show in Reno was huge and sprawling as the Reno sky. It turns out there were no cancellations, and in fact six bands played. Late additions were ADD/C and The Cheater Lines, from Chattanooga. The show moved at the last minute to 223 University St. (not The Spacement, as some reported initially) in the heart of Fraternity Row. I'm not sure if any Dekes or Deltas showed up, but maybe some stopped by over the five hours for which the show raged.
If you're keeping score, I broke my A-string again, the same one as on the Friday night show at Balazo. Dan from ADD/C was on it, though, and was handing me a replacement by the time we'd finished the song. With only the briefest of delays we were back in business. I like to think Dale Earnhardt was smiling down, inspiring a little pit-crew in us.
After the show, we headed over to Slander House for some tasty grub and a good night's sleep. The grub was better than the sleep, as we had to rise early for the drive back to SF. Before we left, we had breakfast with Ryan and Ty, and checked out the downtown Reno sceno.
As we set out on the surprisingly scenic leg of I-80 that extends to Reno, we all expressed a desire to come back to this big little town and rock it once again. Plus, we have to get our guitars out of the pawn shop.
