We've talked, we've made vague drunken plans, Sir Robert even moved to Berkeley to facilitate the vague drunken plans, but we still haven't done the funyons reunion.

It's not like we don't get asked. Practically every time Robert and I are seen together, we're asked, "When are you going to do the funyons?" And we stall, and joke about Robert's serious junk habit, and how expensive Urban Ore is, and we never do it.

Well now we have to: Spanganga is burning out, not fading away, and we'll be there with the lighter fluid. This Sunday, April 25, the funyons pick up where we left off some eight years ago, and you should be there, or be prepared to hear forever after about what you missed.

Chances are, you never saw our legendary sidewalk shows in Miami Beach. You also missed the abortive show in Venice Beach. And you weren't at Rodney and Louisa's house on New Year's Eve that one time a couple of years ago. I would remember seeing you there. Come see us now, and boast of it forever.

This is possibly the first of many local funyons shows, but let's face it: Sir Robert's volatile temper and my enormous ego have kept us apart for this long, and there's really no telling when we'll share a stage, let alone a sidewalk, ever again.
